With the Lycons in the Underworld series, and the recent release of Wolfman starring Benecio Del Toro, filmmakers have brought beasts back into mainstream cinema.
Beasts within this DP category include werewolves, Lycons, forest creatures, Yeti, and titans such as Godzilla.
The best werewolf movie according to DP? We like The Howling, for the advanced special effects and intriguing storyline (recall the opening scene, where the reporter attempts to interview Eddie).
American Werewolf in London was released shortly afterwards, and is also one of our favorites - although the creature appeared to be more wolf-man than man-wolf.
